Antique ear syringe from the 19th century. Fashioned from solid metal, light tarnish in places. The component parts top and bottom unscrew but the plunger moves smoothly up and down. The plunger shaft has four graduations from 1 to 2. The syringe would have been used for aural, bladder or wound treatment.
 
The syringe measures 23cm (9") in length when closed.
