Antique Apothecary Case or Medicine chest, late Georgian/early Victorian, with campaign handle and 10 bottles of 12, in a green velvet lined case. The drawer below accessed from the right hand side by removing the locking pin accessible when the lid is open, the drawer contains brass scales and two sets of weights, a glass mortar & pestle, glass measure with hand engraved gradations, a small glass cup, a glass mixing slide for paste, a small gilt powder spoon and a label for 'Fuller & Levet 13 Brownlow Street, Holborn, London' and a further tin with another set of brass weights. Fuller & Levet operated from this address from between 1835 and 1839 allowing us to date the chest with accuracy. The escutcheon beneath the handle bears the gothic inscription 'AS'.

This case comes with a key but it does not turn the lock.
