Antique telephone. A completely original L.M. Ericsson HA150 wooden and brass telephone dating from around 1900.
The small circles contain the (worn) numbers and letters starting with 'A' then 1-10, the lever clicks across firmly fixing into the required position. The fixings are brass and the wood polished walnut. There is a small chip to the rim of the speaker part of the handset. Both the handset to base cable and the power cable are present and original. The black panel to the fore bears the feint wording 'L M ERICSSON STOCKHOLM' and the lever on the base of the handset has the wording 'PRESS THIS WHILE SPEAKING'.
The catalogue illustration is taken from the Ericsson catalogue for 1903.
This is an intercom telephone, for table use fitted with two press buttons marked S and T and a ringer. Based on the incoming signal, the phone's bell rings regardless of which number the switch is set to. When the signal arrives, the switch is turned to the position marked A, after which calls can take place. If the users find that other conversations in progress on the network seem disturbing, the voice transmission can be improved by having the called party set the selector switch to the caller's number, after which the users press the T button on their respective devices, as long as the call is ongoing. The call is then conducted on a double line. If you wished to talk to one of the other devices from one device, the switch was set to the number of the device in question and given a signal with push button S.
The handset width is 27cm (10.6") and it stands 21.5cm (8.46") high, it weighs 1.9kg (4.19lbs).
